A busy start to the holiday season

Well after a few weeks with out a reservation, we were finally back in action with 3 reservations in 3 days.

The weekend kicked off with Decode Digital's 3rd Annual Company Party on Thursday, 12/8.  I picked the group up at 5pm at their office on Montrose Blvd.  We started the evening off in Montrose District at Anvil Bar & Refuge - a bar devoted to the classic cocktail.  We followed that up with heading about a mile down the street to La Grange Houston - and expansive patio bar offering regional Mexican & Tex-Mex dishes, plus craft beer and cocktails.   Our 3rd stop of the night was a quick stop to see all of the festive decorations and lights downtown at Discovery Green before we made it to Conservatory, the Underground Beer Garden and Food Hall.  Our final stop of the night was Cottonwood, a bar with Texas pub fare with 40+ taps, 2 cask-conditioned and a full bar located in the GOOF (aka Garden Oaks/Oak Forest).

Decode Digital on Cool Bus Houston

I finally called it a night around 12:30am after I got the bus back to the office and cleaned up the bus.

Saturday, 12/10, was another big day for Cool Bus Houston, as we had 2 reservations.  The first, was for the bridal party for Brett & Hannah Bergamo's Wedding.  I picked up the girls from their townhome in Rice Military and drove them out to their wedding venue at the Ashton Gardens.  As we headed out, I overheard one of the girls saying, "This was definitely our best purchase!"

Hearing comments like that and hearing a few days after that the girls "RAVED" about it, really make me feel like I am on to something here.  Knowing that I am able to be a part of the biggest day in this couple's life so far, is a pretty cool feeling.

My 2nd party of the day came well in to the evening as I hosted a birthday party of about 12 people.  I picked the group up in Cypress and made our way to town.  The group rocked out for a solid 30 minutes before we made it to our first stop of the evening, Kung Fu Saloon - a pretty fun bar with a relaxed atmosphere and retro arcade video games - located on Washington Avenue.  For our 2nd stop, we ventured in to Midtown as the group hit up The Dogwood and Sage County - both bars with a great nightlife experience.  Before we left Midtown, we made a quick stop over at Howl at the Moon Piano Bar.  To close out the night, we drove back to Washington Avenue and spent the last hour at Pearl Houston - a bar offering craft cocktails, live music & DJ's, plus a patio with games and TV's.

By 3am, I was finally calling it a night and had successfully completed 2 rides in one day, including my first wedding event!  I am participating in the Bridal Extravaganza Show in January, and I am very much looking forward to getting more involved with weddings and helping to make the couple's big day even more special.

Its been a while...

Its been a while and a lot has happened since I last posted.  So lets get started...

Thursday, 9/15/16 - Official launch date of Cool Bus Houston!  This is the day that I finally publicized The Cool Bus and got my name out to the public through all of my social media outlets.  I used the promo video that we filmed back in July and got some great reviews!  To date (11/1), it now has reached 24,265 people and has been viewed over 8.6k times!

I guess you could say that one negative to being not only the owner of the company, but also the only driver, is that the Cool Bus availability goes with my person availability.  Therefore, the next 3 weekends would not be available for rent as I had already planned on going out of town.  Therefore, the next available weekend to rent out the Cool Bus wouldn't come until October 15th.

Sunday, 10/9/16 - We spent the afternoon with Alyssa Johnson Conklin and Hickory Lane Photography getting pictures of The Cool Bus in front of landmarks around Houston.  We first hit up NRG Stadium and the Astrodome.  Got a few pictures in front of each and even got some pictures of the Super Bowl LI sign that is counting down the days to the big game in Houston in 2017.  Next we took some pictures in front of Toyota Center and Minute Maid Park in downtown Houston.  We also got some pictures in front of the wall painting "Houston is Inspired" in Market Square.  We finished up our "on-site pictures" by taking a few pictures by The Grove in Discovery Green.  After all of our location-based photograph was complete, Alyssa took a few shots of the interior of the bus and some of the Cool Bus swag that I've had produced (sunglasses, koozies, and women's tank tops).  The pictures turned out great and Alyssa was so great to work with!
